Isn't ironic that just because I write that I love (and want) comments,
I get none.
Oh well, doesn't matter because I've had a lovely evening; dinner with friends at chilled out Morrocan place, Shalom, just around the corner from where I live.
The place itself was lovely, but not a day passes by without me commenting on the service in India - in a very friendly way if I may say so. I may be impatient (ok.. veeery impatient), but I am certainly not the unfriendly kind. However, I do see the enormous (and by that, I do mean ENORMOUS) potential for improvement when it comes to service in this country.
To give you an idea;
Drinks - in an empty place it takes a minimum of 30 minutes to get your order (adding the 15min for them to notice that you're even there)
Food - you're lucky if you get what you ordered and twice as lucky if you get it when everyone else is having their meal
Pay - 12,5% VAT for food, 19-20% VAT extra added for liquor (even though the menu states that it is included)
Wine: Don't even consider asking about recommendations as they haven't a clue
However...
There are few people in the world like the Indians who sincerely mean to do well and will go way beyond there comfort zone (according to Western standards) to do so.
And for this I raise my glass and say cheers.
